Just go up to him when you get a chance and, since he's That Goddamn Optimist, dump out his glass of water and be like, "IS YOUR GLASS HALF-FULL NOW, BITCH? HUH? HUH?" Maybe that would be overkill. But in all seriousness I hope you do say something, or do whatever you think is necessary, cause it's not a good thing to have a friend and use them only as a source of information. In fact, that is a butt thing to do.
